Biomagnetism is also known as BioMagnetic Pair Therapy or Biomagnetic therapy, is a natural complementary therapy that is available in Fairfield County, CT. It uses pairs of medium-intensity magnets to diagnose and treat illnesses. This therapeutic approach to healing is different from traditional Western medicine, homeopathy, and naturopathy. Your body naturally has a weak magnetic field and the body’s organs and tissues can become magnetically polarized. Kinesiology can be used to locate magnetic polarizations and pH alterations in the body and Biomagnetism therapy can be used to scan and correct the pH imbalances of the body.

History of Biomagnetism

In 1988 Dr. Isaac Goiz of Mexico first discovered the medically healing power of magnets when he was working with HIV patients. After attending a bioenergy course taught by Dr. Richard Broeringmeyer at the medical school of the University of Guadalajara, Mexico, he carried out tests with paired magnets on the body’s responses to their applications. The practice itself goes as far back as 2,000 years ago when healers in Asia and Europe believed that magnets could be used to pull diseases and impurities out of the body.

What can Biomagnetism treat?

From increasing circulation and oxygenation to stimulating the immune system. Biomagnetism can aid in the body healing itself and restore proper pH levels. It can boost your physical health. Because magnetism is not felt by the human senses in any obvious way, Biomagnetism is a non-invasive treatment that has no known side effects and causes no pain or discomfort. Here are a few of the illnesses Biomagnetic therapy can alleviate:

  • Aches and pains
  • Insomnia
  • Fibromyalgia symptoms
  • Depression
  • Wound healing

What happens during a Biomagnetism treatment session?

You will remain fully clothed but will be asked to remove any metal accessories or jewelry. Comfortable clothing and shoes are recommended. The therapist will perform a Bioenergetic diagnosis. It involves muscle testing and scanning and it’s advised that you relax and think about your condition during this period.

When pH imbalances are identified, your therapist will place magnets of either positive or negative polarity onto the unbalanced areas. This re-establishes balanced and neutral pH levels. A session can last anywhere from 1.5 to 2 hours and while your condition may improve after only one session, a complete course of treatment usually requires between 3 to 5 sessions.

There haven’t been many studies on magnetic field therapy and there's no clear proof that it can treat any condition.

Who shouldn’t use Biomagnetic therapy?

People who have medical devices or implants with a magnetic field, such as a pacemaker or insulin pump, should not use this therapy because it can interfere with the function of the implant or device. Patients who have undergone chemotherapy in the past 12 months, young children, and pregnant women are also advised against using biomagnetic therapy because the safety of this therapy is not proven. Talking to your doctor before undertaking any alternative therapies, including Biomagnetic therapy, is always advised.

About Inessa Makdulina-Nyzio, MS, RD, CDN

I have been practicing as a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist for a decade and I believe that teaching a healthy and balanced lifestyle can make the world a better place, one person at a time. Through my own experience of sudden asthma and food sensitivities, I was able to learn that healing can occur through lifestyle changes and the incorporation of healing foods. I healed myself to the point where my body had no more symptoms. I do not look to the standard care models as the sole modality of treatment for my clients and utilize many approaches in my treatment plans.
